Shock, Inc. was founded in 2006 by paramedics, firefighters and nurses with over 60 years experience, combined. We are passionate about training and AED accessibility to all. We have witnessed the life saving ability of a Zoll AED in the community. Defibrillation and CPR are the top two reasons people are able to survive a cardiac event. Our goal is to be able to provide access to an AED and training to businesses and community members throughout Utah and neighboring states.

An AED (automated external defibrillator) is a device that analyses the heart rhythm and advises the rescuer of the need for defibrillation, and delivers a shock if needed.
Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) simply means that the heart unexpectedly and abruptly stops beating. This is usually caused by an abnormal heart rhythm called ventricular fibrillation (VF).
The steps for shocking an SCA victim are simple and straightforward. The ZOLL® AED Plus® and ZOLL AED 3™ provide visual and audio prompts to guide you through the entire resuscitation process. The most difficult part is recognising the need for defibrillation.
Start CPR immediately. Once the AED is present, apply the electrode pads to the victim's bare chest, and follow the AED’s voice prompts and messages. It will tell you when to resume CPR.
Treating SCA is a high-stress situation. Even experienced health care providers do not do everything perfectly. During SCA, performing CPR and using an AED can only help the victim.
